Cool vegetarian spotlight: Adam Young from Owl City
Hitting top 10’s on iTunes now is Owl City’s catchy new techno New-Age pop song “Fireflies”, which I happen to like very much — but it’s not just for this reason that I’m featuring the 23-year-old Minnesota musician, Adam Young in VegLiving’s spotlight post here today. Not only has Young recently established himself as a self-produced, New-Wave artist with a chart-topping single, this guy is setting an awesome example as a compassionate vegetarian in the music industry too.

Peta2 recently featured Adam Young of his own one-man band Owl City in an interview here, from which I’ll quote two of my favorite points he made during the conversation with Megan of Peta2.
Here’s the article at Peta2 here, whereat you can enter to win a signed Owl City CD.
.
Of all of the major animal rights issues, are there any that are particularly close to your heart?
Adam: Keeping animals out of laboratory used for beauty products has always been a big one for me. It makes me shudder just thinking about it. It definitely needs to be stopped.
.
And my other favorite:
If a fan were to ask you how to be more involved with animal rights, what advice would you give him or her?
Adam: Eat lettuce, not ham sandwiches.
.
As said in the article, “a man of few words” he is. But that’s okay, he’s getting the message across and I think that’s very admirable.
Two more things: don’t forget to check out the post here at VegLiving featuring some other awesome famous vegetarians (who were contenders in PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian of the Year contest… who knows, some say Adam Young will be a big choice this year!). This post got a lot of hits and I hope new readers will find it to their liking.
Lastly, if you like the blog, feel free to subscribe by RSS, in a reader (like iGoogle or My Yahoo!), or just plainly by email to make sure you’ll never miss an update. And my Twitter and email are here for contacting me quick and easy. As always, I try to post every day but unfortunately sometimes things get busy, as we all can experience sometimes.

Tomorrow’s podcast for our VegLiving Hot Minute show (check out some casts online here) will be out and be on the lookout for some more photoblogs soon!
Enjoy, and be well,
Brian

Hi – I don’t comment on many web sites but had to on yours. It’s fantastic! I really like the way you write – very to the point, unlike a lot of other blogs. Thanks for having this site. I found your site while looking for another one on Bing. I don’t have time to read everything right now, but I have bookmarked this site and will visit again very soon to see what’s new. I love reading about cooking, it is my favorite hobby. The recipes on your site are incredible. I can’t wait to try them out on my family. They think I’m nuts (and maybe they are right lol) when they see me at work in the kitchen. Please visit my recipe web site at http://www.KAChef.com. Keep up the great work!
